Dear Colleagues in the profession,
After more than 20 years of running courses, I’m very proud to introduce the LCIAD Academy Private Practice Course from autumn 2026.
This high-quality modular course covers every aspect of private practice and is based on 35 years of experience, knowledge, success and failure.
It is the culmination of everything that I have learned along the way and is my way of thanking the profession and passing on whatever advice and knowledge I can for my successors.
It acknowledges the fact that working in, owning and running a high quality dental practice is the fine art of juggling many plates – clinical skills, people skills, leadership skills, financial skills, stamina, and a fair dose of craziness to persist at giving the best we can for our patients whilst making our practices the best that they can be despite whatever life can throw at us.
This has been a very personal undertaking and something that I have wanted to do for a long time. This course is the course I would have wanted to go on as a young dental surgeon now that I know what I know.
I want to share all of this with you together with my dear colleagues that have formed a very important part of my professional and personal journey.
This modular course falls somewhere in between our short courses and a full time Master’s degree leading to specialisation. It brings together everything in a way that is as comprehensive as necessary and as concise as possible for the young dentist wanting to aspire in their career and do the very best they possibly can for their patients and for the profession.
It aims to provide the cream of all of the disciplines under the tenet that generalism is the best specialty. I’ve come to the realisation during my career that understanding every discipline well to a high standard is the cornerstone of a successful private practice.
I would be really honoured if you would join me on this journey where I hope that sharing everything that I know and everything that I’ve experienced might enrich your future career.
My very best.
